Role Overview:
As the Communications Officer, you will lead the development and execution of PACS's communication strategies. You will create and manage content that effectively conveys our mission, campaigns, and impact. Your work will include media relations, digital communications, content creation, and stakeholder engagement to enhance our visibility and influence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Content Creation and Management:
· Develop and produce high-quality content for various platforms, including websites, social media, newsletters, and press releases.
· Craft compelling stories, articles, and reports highlighting PACS's work, achievements, and impact.
· Ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all communication channels.
2. Media Relations:
· Build and maintain relationships with media contacts and journalists to secure coverage for PACS's activities and campaigns.
· Prepare press releases, media briefs, and other materials to support media outreach.
· Manage media inquiries and coordinate interviews and press events.
3. Digital Communication:
· Oversee the organization's digital presence, including website updates, social media management, and email marketing.
· Monitor digital engagement and analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and adjust as needed.
· Implement best practices for SEO and online visibility.
4. Campaign Support:
· Collaborate with campaign teams to develop communication plans and materials for specific initiatives and events.
· Assist in campaigns, including drafting campaign briefs, managing timelines, and evaluating outcomes.
5. Stakeholder Engagement:
· Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather information and feedback for communication strategies.
· Coordinate with partners and collaborators to ensure effective and aligned communication efforts.
6. Crisis Communication:
· Support the development of crisis communication plans and respond to emerging issues as needed.
· Monitor public perception and media coverage to manage potential reputational risks.
7. Reporting and Evaluation:
· Track and analyze communication metrics and provide regular reports on the effectiveness of communication activities.
· Use insights to refine strategies and enhance overall communication impact.
Qualifications:
Education:
· Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Environmental Studies, Public Relations, or a related field.
· A Master's degree is a plus.
Experience:
· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in communications, public relations, or related roles, preferably within the non-profit or environmental sector.
Skills:
· Excellent command of written and spoken English.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Proficiency in digital tools and platforms, including social media and content management systems.
· Strong organizational and project management skills.
Knowledge:
· Familiarity with climate change issues, sustainability, and environmental advocacy.
· Understanding of media landscape and public relations strategies.

Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Policy Monitoring and Analysis:
· Monitor and analyze climate and renewable energy (RE) policies and market trends in Southeast Asian countries.
· Provide regular updates and reports on policy developments and their implications for PACS's strategic objectives.
2. Networking and Relationship Building:
· Build and maintain a network with RE stakeholders in the Philippines, including policymakers, investors, businesses, and NGOs.
· Engage with stakeholders to foster collaboration and support for RE initiatives.
3. Strategy Development and Support:
· Advise and support the organization in developing strategies to accelerate the energy transition to renewable energy in the Philippines.
· Contribute to the formulation of action plans and campaigns that align with PACS's goals.
4. Project Execution:
· Assist in the execution of PACS's energy transition projects in the Philippines and other key Southeast Asian countries.
· Coordinate project activities, ensuring timely and effective implementation.
5. PACS RE Scholars Program Support:
· Support the PACS Renewable Energy Scholars Program by assisting in program development, student mentorship, and coordination of training activities.
· Facilitate collaboration between scholars and industry professionals to enhance learning and career opportunities.
6. Representation and Advocacy:
· Represent PACS at energy meetings, conferences, and events.
· Advocate for PACS's mission and vision, promoting the importance of renewable energy and climate justice.
Qualifications:
1. Commitment to Climate Action:
· Demonstrate concern over the climate crisis and a strong sense of climate injustice.
· A passionate advocate for change and sustainable energy solutions.
2. Educational Background:
· Master's degree in an energy-related field, political science, business management, or a related discipline.
3. Professional Experience:
· At least 3 years of experience in an energy-related field, preferably within government, local government units (LGUs), or commercial entities in the energy sector.
4. Skills and Competencies:
· Curiosity and enthusiasm to learn and stay updated on energy trends and policies.
· Sharp eyes for nuances hidden between the lines and the ability to connect the dots.
· Ability to work independently while being an effective team player.
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a candid and transparent approach.
· Strong essay writing skills with a proven track record.
· knowledge of the Chinese language is an advantage
