The extreme weather events such as extreme rainfalls and extreme heat brought about by climate change have an increasingly real impact on our lives, and the consequent epidemic diseases, crop reduction, and sea level rising arethreatening our survival. As the energy industry accounts for three-quarters of global emissions, accelerating the energy transition is of great importance to realizing the climate goals of the Paris Agreement.

In the global process of energy transition towards low-carbon, China has the ability to play a more important role. As a major contributor to global photovoltaic, wind and other renewable energy production capacity and a major overseas investment and financing country, if China can accelerate the greening of overseas energy investment and drive Chinese clean energy technology going global, it will help developing countries solve the bottleneck in the field of clean energy technology and accelerate the process of the global energy transition.

The report "Transition towards green and low-carbon energy 2024- Accelerating with new approaches" answers the following questions: How is China's greenand low-carbon energy investment in developing countries? What challenges does China face in this process? How to better respond to the challenges and fulfill the commitment that "China will step up support for other developing countries in developing green and low-carbon energy".
